Baftas 2016: Best Red Carpet Looks
Posted by Rachael Funnell in Lifestyle
Last night Stephen Fry lead us through the 69th EE British Royal Academy Film Awards and in true Baftas style, the brightest and best of Hollywood turned up in their droves, dressed to the nines in this years hottest styles. This year's styles were all about bold, bright and beautiful looks that had our heads turning all night long. Take a look at some of our favourite moments from this oh so glamorous evening.
Dakota Johnson, Heida Reed, Emilia Clarke - It's the age old question that has plagued gamblers for decades, red or black? With the girls putting forward strong arguments for both sides we can't decide, but there's no denying Dakota's subtle frills add a gorgeously feminine touch to the stereotypically sexy red dress.
Rebel Wilson - Undoubtedly the funniest woman in film, Rebel Wilson stole the show last night with her hilarious speech, poking fun at the controversial Oscar's debate and flirting unashamedly with Idris Elba. But more importantly last night Rebel proved that after the jokes are done she can still work a stunning LBD and we're senselessly jealous of her rolling blonde curls. Well played Rebel, well played...
Julianne Moore and Kate Winslet - The battle of the ball gowns kicked off in true style, with Julianne Moore and Kate Winslet both rocking their floor length frocks. We love that Kate matched her clutch to her lipstick, but can't get enough of Julianne's timeless monochrome dress. Please don't make us choose a winner...
Emilia Clarke - Our "Smile Of The Evening" award has to go to the adorable Emilia Clarke who proved that sometimes less is more with her effortless "barely there" makeup look. Most of all we just want to know where the Mother of Dragons got her brows from, we want some!
Cate Blanchett, Olga Kurylenko, Saoirse Ronan - Glamorous Bond girl Olga Kurylenko turned heads in her subtle but sultry neutral dress, whilst Saoirse and Cate brought spring to life with their brightly coloured gowns. The girls all looked stunning but hands down our winning outfit of the night has to be Cate Blanchett who looked absolutely breath-taking in Alexander McQueen.
As another fabulous evening of beauty, fashion and ill-thought comments winds to a close, at My Beauty Matches we can't wait to see what the Oscar's holds in store. We might not be up for any film awards (I guess somehow we were missed?), but getting an insight into the glitz and glamour of Hollywood is all the reward we need.
